Hey pixels!! I love cinnamon rolls, but sometimes I’m too tired to make a bunch of them, or simply I don’t have time to make them. This was a problem until now: cinnamon rolls in a mug are a thing! This recipe is real. It’s just like a chocolate cake or a french toast in a mug: simple single serving recipes for when you’re hungry but you just have 5′ minutes to cook.
This kind of cinnamon rolls are also perfect if you live alone, or if you’re the only one who loves cinnamon rolls at home. This can happen, too.
The recipe steps are almost the same, but using less ingredient amounts, and less time. I was amazed by how easy and quick is to make this rolls. You can even have one for breakfast. Lack of time is not an excuse now!!
Ingredients:
- 9 level tablespoons all purpose flour
- ¾ teaspoon baking powder
- a pinch of salt
- Around 3-4½ tablespoons water
- A tiny dab of olive oil for greasing the mug
- ¾ teaspoon cinnamon
- 1½ tablespoons brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon soy milk
- 3 tablespoons powdered sugar
- A drop of soy milk (around ¾ teaspoon)
Directions:
Grease a normal sized drinking mug (just a standard medium sized one) with a tiny dab of olive oil. Be sure to reach into the bottom and the edges well.
First make the frosting. In a small bowl mix the powdered sugar with soy milk. Stir well until smooth then set aside.
Add the flour, baking powder and salt to another small bowl and stir to combine.
Gradually add the soy milk (from the 3-4½ tablespoons, stirring until it starts to form a dough then use your hand to bring it together, kneading a few times until its a smooth, flexible ball of dough.
Dust your work surface with a little flour, then roll your dough out into a long strip.
Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon evenly over the dough. You will be left with a long narrow strip which you can roll up.
Roll it up and gently lift it and place it in the greased mug.
Pour over ½ teaspoon water then place in the microwave.
Microwave uncovered on full power for around 45 – 50”. Cook a few seconds more if it’s not cooked enough.
Turn out onto a plate and spoon over the frosting. Or eat it from the mug.
